The 2015 Lady Cat volleyball team will be loaded with talent and ready for the task of grabbing the district 7-4A crown.
The Lady Cat's return twelve players from last years team in, Sydnee Schofield, Jaycee Pannell, Kaylee White, Beth Danna, Cheyenne Barnes, Sidnee Molloy, Whitney Stegall, Destiny Green, Lindsay Lummus, Jordyn Logan, Hannah Stoy, and Makaila Tyer. With the depth and experience in the roster another good season could be in store for the Lady Cat's.
Last year, the Lady Cat's finished the season with a 7-1 district record, Co-District champions with Kennedale, Area finalist, highest state ranking of No. 14 in 4A, and a 27-11 record overall. While the Cat's did graduate several valuable seniors, this years squad will be up to the task for another playoff run.
This years pre-district schedule is loaded with talented teams and many familiar foes. The Lady Cat's will play experienced teams in Dublin, Joshua, Peaster, Glen Rose, Maypearl, Boyd, Groesbeck, Mineral Wells, and Lake Worth all before district play begins. The Cat's will also be competing in the Grandview, Brewer, and Groesbeck tournaments.
The district schedule this season has a new team, the Midlothian Heritage Leopards will be added to the district in the schools first year of existence. Still, the favorites to win district 7-4A are Godley and Kennedale with dark horses in Alvarado and Heritage High Schools, respectively.
The Lady Cat's kick off their season with scrimmages on August 7th in Weatherford, their season and home-opener is on August 11th against Dublin at 5:00 P.M.
